Kilgorman Medieval graveslab with a ring cross An early Christian church was founded in Kilgorman Parish, County Wexford, by St Gorman. He is possibly the same Gorman from whom the county acquired the name. A later medieval church stood within a rectangular graveyard defined by an earthen bank. The wedge shaped medieval graveslab, pictured below, is all that remains from this period. The 2.05 metre long graveslab bears a weathered ringed cross in relief. The shaft and square base of the cross are very clear, but the ring is unfortunately very worn. It is known locally as the Kilgorman Cross.

The graveslab prooved quite difficult to find, the graveyard can be slightly overgrown at times. As you enter the gate make your way to the right hand side, the recumbent slab is located on a slope in the south east section of the graveyard.

Situated: From Gorey head north on the R 772. After 2k turn right for Ballymoney. Then 1K turn left. After 1.5 turn right towards Tara Hill. Drive around the hill and turn left at the T-Junction.
